Member Services Attendant

To assist in the day to day management of the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center (CRWC), Field House (FH), or the Hawkeye Tennis & Recreation Complex (HTRC) for the benefit of the members and the university community. This position is responsible for answering questions regarding all Recreational Services facilities, checking members into the facilities, and ensuring all registration and membership forms are filled out correctly. Knowledge of Fusion Recreation Management Software is necessary.
Responsibilities
• Provide excellent customer service while serving as the first point of contact for members.
• Sell memberships and guest passes.
• Answer questions in person or via the phone about programs and facilities.
• Register participants for a variety of recreational programs.
• Responsible for daily cash flow through the Fusion program and works independently under little supervision.
• Greets members while checking their membership ID for entrance into the facilities.
• Implement and enforce membership policies and procedures.
• Lead tours of the facilities when needed.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all Recreational Services programs and facilities.
• Assist in the response to all building emergencies (Accidents/Injuries, Inclement Weather, etc)
• May be required to work special events outside normal hours of operation.
• Works cooperatively with other areas of the department to achieve established goals.
• Promotes a safe, clean, functional and marketable facility.
• Performs other work as assigned.
Qualifications
• At least one semester working for Recreational Services required.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
• Mandatory attendance at training meetings.
• Ability to use independent judgment when needed and possess strong problem-solving skills.
• 2 semester commitment.
