Maintenance Assistant
Rate of Pay: $11.50/hour

To assist in the day to day maintenance of all Recreational Services facilities, equipment and grounds for the benefit of the members and the university community.
Responsibilities
• Assist with preventative maintenance and general repair of fitness equipment including prescribed routine cleaning and inspection of equipment.
• Assist with event set-up and tear down.
• Assist with outdoor field and grounds maintenance responsibilities.
• Assist with locker maintenance.
• Keep facilities in excellent condition while also providing great customer service to our members.
• Works cooperatively with other area of the department to achieve established goals.
• Knowledge of all policies and procedures of the facilities.
• Promotes a safe, clean, and functional environment.
• Mandatory attendance at training meetings.
• Performs other work as assigned.

• Outstanding customer service skills.

• Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
• Ability to use independent judgment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work holidays and breaks preferred.
Training Requirements
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet UI Fleet Services requirements, preferred
