Marketing Representative

Assist the marketing coordinator in the development and implementation of marketing needs and communications campaigns for the Division of Student Life and other external campus offices. Through collaboration with other campus partners and the Student Life Communications team, this role will brainstorm creative ideas, coordinate and implement marketing efforts, and apply analytical skills to measure campaign success. Work may include attendance at various department or division events and programs throughout the year.
Responsibilities
• Manage the Recreational Services social media channels, including the scheduling and content creation of posts and stories.
• Schedule and post digital signage advertisements throughout the Recreational Services facilities.
• Deliver print marketing to campus partners and update marketing displays in Recreational Services facilities, including poster installations and flyer distribution.
• Updates to websites for campus partners, including Recreational Services, University Counseling Service, Student Health, Student Wellness, and Student Disability Services.
• Promote programs and events via the UI events calendar for campus partners.
• Provide copywriting and proofing/editing for marketing materials and newsletters.
• Prepare social media, website, and email communication analytics on a monthly basis.
• Assist the marketing coordinator with the following duties: Creation and execution of communications plans for campus partners. Enter ticker orders to initiate work on projects for campus partners, including design, photo, video, and website needs. Accompany the marketing coordinator at regular meetings with campus partners to discuss needs and long-term plans associated with their programs, events, or services. Budget planning for projects, including the collection of quotes for products or services.
• May be required to work special events outside of normal hours of operations.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Candidates must be enrolled as a student at the University of Iowa majoring in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related area of study.
• Resume required.
• Experience with social media and/or website management preferred.
• Ability to interact with diverse groups through a variety of situations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including copy-editing and proofreading skills.
• Possible Driver’s License Check upon hire
