The Division of Student Life: University Housing & Dining is seeking a Temporary Kitchen Helper I for Burge Market Place. Under direct supervision, the Temporary Kitchen Helper I performs a variety of tasks involved in the preparation of food, performs related cleaning jobs and sanitation duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
• Scrapes, sorts, stacks, and scrubs pots and pans, dishes, utensils, etc. in preparation for warewashing machine
• Performs cleaning duties including mopping, sweeping, vaccuming, and general cleaning
• Operates and maintains pot & pan/dishwasing machines and area in an efficient, effective, and sanitary manner
• Supplies serving and preparation areas with clean dishes and utensils
• Disposes of garbage and cleans garbage cans
• Maintains satisfactory sanitation level and applies established safety procedures in assigned work areas
• Assists storeroom clerk as assigned
• Assist in on-the-job training of students and other employees assigned to the food service sanitations areas
Qualifications
• Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
