Dates of Stay
Summer internship housing may start no earlier than 8 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2026, and end no later than 12 Noon, Saturday, August 01, 2026. For planning purposes, all move in times must occur between 8 AM and 11 PM. If you arrive between 11:01 PM and 7:59 AM, you will not be allowed entry to the building and will not be checked in. You should make other arrangements for your overnight stay until residence hall check-in opens at 8 AM.

Emergency Contact Information
In the event of an emergency, we will contact this person to assist with your situation. Ideally, this will be someone local to Iowa. If you do not have an emergency contact in Iowa, please indicate a person you are comfortable making decisions on your behalf. This person must be aged 18 years of age or older.

Medical/ADA Housing Request
University Housing and Dining is committed to providing housing to internship participants, regardless of disability. Participant needs differ individually, and University Housing and Dining will make reasonable accommodations for participants with disabilities. Campus housing is intended for individuals who do not need adult supervision and can successfully live on their own. It is your responsibility to inform UHD Administration if you need a reasonable accommodation while staying in the residence hall or utilizing the market place for meals.
It is important to communicate early and thoroughly with us to ensure your needs can be met most effectively. This request must be made as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days before your move in date. If you need to request an accommodation, you will need to complete a Summer Intern UHD Request for Reasonable Accommodation form (Here to download). Our team will review completed requests and provide an outcome to your listed email address on this application. The priority deadline for request is Wednesday, July 01, 2026. Requests received after the priority deadline may be limited by availability.

Confidentiality: Please note that personal information and documents received are considered confidential and shared only with staff charged with reviewing and implementing requests for an accommodation. This information will have no bearing on your general eligibility for housing.

Proof of Internship
You must provide proof of your internship on company letterhead that includes your full name, the start and end dates, location of internship and Company name.

Roommate Match Request
Roommate matches will only be considered, provided all mutually agree to room together and all have submitted their housing application by Wednesday, July 01, 2026. If you would like to request a roommate match, fill out the roommate information below.

Micro-fridge unit
If selected, a micro-fridge unit may be placed in your room. Only one micro-fridge unit per room is allowed. Not all buildings or rooms may have micro-fridge units available. Micro-fridge units may not be available for applications received after Friday, May 1, 2026.
A flat fee for a micro fridge unit will be charged for the length of your stay, when applicable, based on the room type.

Application fee
To submit your application there will be a non-refundable application fee of $25.00.
